About us

East Pole camp is the first developing freeride catskiing project in Kazakhstan, located in the east of the country, in the heart of the West Altai mountain range.

It's a base built far from the civilization, serving as a warm house for all winter freeride enthusiasts. Our camp is a cozy forest hotel, a hot sauna, and a united team ready to share with you the natural wonders of the Eastern Kazakhstan region.

Our Story

The project was created in 2014 by a group of enthusiasts and mountain instructors who are happy to offer programs of various levels of difficulty and duration. For 10 seasons, we have welcomed guests from different parts of the world. Our team strives to pay special attention to each guest.

Our programs

For winter freeride enthusiasts, we offer snowcat and snowmobile rides, ski touring routes, and heliskiing. We have an excellent opportunity to create combined programs, using all types of freeriding, as our camp is located right at the foot of the slopes and has a ski-in-ski-out status, meaning we start the ascent and finish the descent right at the hotel doorstep.

Freeriding at the East Pole Camp

We specialize in organizing freeride tours. The winter season runs from November 20 to March 24. We offer all types of winter freeriding: catskiing, snowmobile-assisted, ski touring and heliskiing.

The East Pole provides an excellent opportunity for combined programs, using all types. The location boasts good quality, quantity of snow, low avalanche danger, and a skiing area of over 100 square kilometers of various mountain terrain, with elevation differences ranging from 300 to 1070 meters from start to gathering point.

The project team consists of 10 experienced guides with good knowledge of the region and safety. The slopes of the main lines range from 20 to 43 degrees, with vertical drop changes from 300m to 1070m, and lengths from 2.5 to 4.5 km.

What's the difference?

Freeride using the Pisten Bully snowcat (capacity up to 14 riders)

5-7 descents with an average total vertical drop of 3250-3500m.

Freeride with snowmobile drops (2 riders per snowmobile, total weight not exceeding 160 kg)

total weight not exceeding 160 kg) - 7-9 runs with an average total vertical drop of 4500-4700m.

Heliskiing

For this type, we use an Airbus H125 helicopter designed for mountain flights and only with experienced pilots. Group capacity up to 4 riders. Total vertical drop from 5500m, 7-10 descents.

Skitour with a guide

This is hiking up the mountains with special equipment without using machinery. On average, the group manages to make 1-2 ascents and descents per day. Our base is valued by skiers for the ability to start the ascent right from the hotel doorstep and descend back accordingly. There are about 10 ski touring routes from the base. Our team can organize tours to other ridges. We recommend discussing all the details in advance.
